Wouldn’t it be awkward….

I have this little 5 year old man in my life who really quite amazing. His current favorite phrase is ‘Wouldn’t it be awkward…’ and then, to be honest, you can insert anything you want from ‘…if a dinosaur walked in the room right now’ to some elaborate story about Pokemon or zombies or Mario. (and for the record the zombies thing totally baffles us!)

I bet if I heard that phrase once today I heard it 100 times. I know that one day I will miss it, but I was glad for bedtime tonight! ;0)

And here is my little man in all his glory at David and Amanda’s wedding.

I should also add that this little guy woke us up this morning by singing a good morning song to us. As Miss Pat says ‘Be still my heart!’

FFFN February 24

Tonight we headed to Chick-fil-A for dinner and then we headed to Borders Bookstore where we picked up a few books on travelling the USA and National Parks.

This summer we are going to take a month and travel out west. For the first time in my life I am going to dip my toes in the Pacific Ocean and I get to do it with the 3 most important people in my life…Graham, Abigail and Jacob!

I can’t wait. I’m no fool I know it is going to take a great deal of planning, is going to have lots of twists and turns; but I am looking forward to a month with these fine folks….

haircut

Wow, my little girl is growing up.

A dear friend of our has breast cancer. She has taught Abigail in Sunday School the last couple years and Abigail loves her to bits. We talked about why she needed a break from teaching and what treatments she would be having and what that meant.

To be honest I didn’t give it much more thought than that.

Then a few weeks later Abigail said she wanted her hair really short like a girl in her class. We looked though pictures until she found how she wanted it. Turns out it was a short bob. I measured and realized she probably had enough to donate.

Abigail was the one who put two and two together. ‘Mom, you mean there are kids who are sick like Ms Judy and I can help them feel better?!’

My goodness. I love that girl.

Hollywood Sign

Graham and I managed to escape this weekend to pray and plan out the next ‘season’ of life. One of the really fun things we did was plan a trip all the way to the pacific ocean and back again.

It’s going to be so much fun!! I can’t wait. David and Amanda had the children for us and even managed to clean up sick - thank you Jacob.

Anyway, we got home and chilled out (read cuddled with the kiddios on the couch) then we decided to tell them about the trip we had planned. We got out the map and told them all the sites we would see and we got to LA and told them this is where we would go to Disney and see the pacific ocean. Abigail’s reply ‘Are we gonna see the Hollywood sign?!’

Love. that. girl.

What a week!

A week ago today I took Jacob to the doctor after several ‘accidents’ only to discover he is totally ‘backed up’ and started a month of laxatives.

One of the funniest quotes came from this is as last Sunday we were having a church wide breakfast and he asked ‘Mom, can I have a banana?’ and I said ‘I guess this morning that is fine.’ and then he looked across the table at a friend and said ‘Cause I am all backed up! I’ve got butt issues!’ Well, Connie and I just about died laughing!

Anyway, the weekend went fairly normally after that until Sunday night I clogged my kitchen sink and it stayed clogged until Monday afternoon when David came over and rescued me! We did have to rent a superduper ‘snake’ to clear it though.

Tuesday evening Jacob seemed fairly normal. The only odd thing being he didn’t really want his Tuesday treat of a donut after preschool that one of the ladies always bring into the office.

Right before I went to bed Tuesday it started. He threw up. (thankfully this is the only time he did), but then he has run a temp Wednesday and most of the day Thursday. It finally broke Thursday afternoon.

And so here we are back at Friday!

FFFN 27 January 2012

I so need to down load pics from my camera, but I don;t want to forget last night!!!

First things first…I took Abigail to get 8 inches cut off her hair and then we went to see the Sheridan vs Lapel basketball game. This was extra special as my cousin plays for Lapel and a dear friend’s son plays for Sheridan!!!

We were also able to eat a chicken and noodle supper with Bob and Leanna!

What an awesome Friday night!

FFFN January 13, 2012

Friday Family Fun Night January 13, 2012 consisted of Uncle David and Auntie Amanda coming over and winding the children and dogs up. Well, that was mostly David’s doing! Then settling down with Chicken nuggets and chips to watch Charlie Brown Christmas specials :)

It was rounded off with Oreo Cookie Shakes!!

(Mummy and Daddy then cooked a little bit nicer of a meal than chicken nuggets and chips and enjoyed that together ;0)
