Day 9 – Frugal Clean Eating with The Pampered Chef

We have found two milk substitutes that have helped us so much!

Goats Milk and Flax milk!

Flax milk we drink on a day to day basis BUT we’ve found goats milk in a powered form, condensed form AND in a yoghurt with pro-biotics!!!

The goats milk in powder form or condensed form is super useful in the quick-stir pitcher!

Day 8 – Frugal Clean Eating with the Pampered Chef

This product is probably neither frugal or clean eating, but has been part of transforming our allergy journey!

I can now bake all my moms awesome recipes and they still taste great and are grain free!! It is a straight substitution too! 1 cup of all purpose flour = 1 cup of this beauty!

So good! I did serve with cornbread as we ended up having guests for dinner too!

We had left overs and I think this whole meal for 7 people came in at less than $10!!!

And I have to give a shout out to my the Rockcrok! LOVE it!! All the wonders of classic stoneware with the best technology that means it is usable on 5 heat sources AND dishwasher safe! woot woot!

The 5 heat sources are: oven, stove top, microwave, broiler, grill

Roast pork and sweet potato dinner!

Roast pork is covered in brown sugar, sage, garlic, salt and pepper.
The sweet potatoes in olive oil and cayenne pepper.

Baked and roasted for hours.

With the juices I added some chicken broth salt and pepper.

Get in my belly!

Day 4 – 31 Days of Frugal Clean Eating with The Pampered Chef

Today is all about ‘Nanny Dot’s Lentil Soup’.

Boil a left over ham bone until all the meal falls off – usually several hours and then I leave it to cool overnight!

Add several carrots, an onion and 1lbs of red lentils and cook all day!

oh, my, goodness. So simple; yet, so yummy! and usually lasts 2 meals!

Day 3 – 31 Days of Frugal Clean Eating with The Pampered Chef

Tonight we had a ‘roast dinner’.

Roasted a whole chicken from Aldi. At 95cents a lbs it is the cheapest I have found. With roast potatoes, cabbage and carrots!

I did treat us to Bisto Gravy imported from the UK and bought on amazon. I know it is not ‘clean eating’, but being imported from the UK it is GMO FREE 🙂 ha

The chicken I roast in the Deep Covered Baker and covered with garlic oil and a lemon pepper rub!

The carrots came from Aldi at something like 90cents a bag!

The cabbage from Fresh Thyme Market and the potatoes were from Kroger at $5 for 10lbs.

Roast potatoes are made by peeling and lightly boiling them. Then give them a shake in the pan and dump on stoneware, cover in olive oil, salt and pepper! Yes, use your salt and pepper grinders 🙂

I thought I’d have left over chicken to boil and make meal number 2 but let’s just say I don’t know what I was thinking!

This meal came in at around $7 for 4 people, but there were NO left overs! ha

Day 2 – 31 days of Frugal Clean Eating with The Pampered Chef

Chicken black beans green peppers

I spent much of today working and after a busy few days I wanted a quick and easy meal!

I used the left over chicken from last night
2 cans of black beans
2 green peppers
1/2 an onion
1/2 a tomato
1tbs of Bell Pepper Herb Rub
4 garlic gloves

Because I was working I threw all this layered in a crockpot with the peppers on top and on low from about 10am! (Tip don’t stir and the peppers don’t turn to mush!)

We then ate this of quinoa!

I have to highlight the Garlic Press – which I LOVE. No peeling the garlic, no mess and no stinky fingers!

I’ll try to remember to take more pictures! sorry!

This whole meal came in around $5 AND we had left overs! (All the ingredients were from either Aldi or Fresh Thyme Market!)

PS We like our food ‘not bland’ and I would add more of the Bell Pepper Rub and more garlic!

Day 1 of Frugal Clean Eating with The Pampered Chef!

We had grilled chicken and asparagus with baked potatoes in goats cheese!
