Day 8 – Grand Canyon Arizona

The drive from Flagstaff to the Visitors Center at the Grand Canyon South Rim was just over an hour and a very easy pretty drive.

We arrived and, of course, the first thing we did was get the Jr Ranger info/booklet! We then walked to the Rim of the Canyon. As I remembered it was breath-taking! The kids were in awe and as we stood there are watched people walk up it was fun to hear the gasps of amazement!

We took the free shuttle to another lookout and had ice cream and then back to the visitors center for the ‘Critter Talk’. Did you know squirrels cause more injuries than any other animal at the canyon. Silly people try to feed them!

This is the one place that we have been that I have felt pictures simply do not do it justice. At. All. I mean not even close!!!

Oh and the funny conversation on the way home was Abigail trying to convince Jacob he was going to need a sash for all his badges and her final words were ‘Jacob, you need this and when our parents are in New York City Grandma can help with this!’

Had to take a pic of those ‘dangerous’ squirrels!

    That’s not a squirrel, silly! That’s a chipmunk! Also very dangerous, I’m sure. 😉
